WLTC Advanced Obedience

For dogs successfully completing either our Puppy Class or Beginner Class. This level of
training perfects the basic exercise performance, including working off leash with your dog
moving freely and under complete control. This 8 week class is especially helpful for
anyone intending to enter obedience trials. Advanced obedience is a good foundation for
the AKC Companion Dog (CD)/Novice title competition.

The Novice Class demonstrates good canine companion skills such as heeling, both with
and without a leash, coming when called, standing for a simple physical examination, and
staying in both a sit and a down position with a group of dogs. In addition to perfecting the
obedience exercises, our instructors also begin introducing AKC Rally terms, signs and
exercises for further AKC trial opportunities.
