BEGINNER ON LEAD

For Dogs over 6 months with no formal
training
In this 9 week course, training extends beyond the basic puppy class level and
encourages a deeper understanding of:

Heel:  The dog is taught to walk closely by the owner's left side and to set when
the owner stops walking.  A dog that learns to heel will not pull, tug, or lunge at
people or other dogs while out for a walk.

Sit & Sit/Stay:  Teaches the dog to sit on command and to remain sitting until he
is released from the command by the owner.

Down & Down/Stay:  A perfect way to control your dog when company comes
over.  Dog is taught to lie down on command and to stay down until released.

Stand for Exam:  Teaches the dog to stand perfectly still in place while a stranger
approaches and touches him.  The exercise encourages dogs to have confidence
in people that they do not know.
Your veterinarian will thank you!!

Recall & Finish:  The "Recall" teaches the dog to come quickly when called and
to sit immediately in front of the owner.  Then, upon command to
"Finish", the
dog quickly walks around to the owners left side and sits in heel position.
